Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Assistants must work directly under supervision of director or leader.
• Each year of employment, complete at least 15 clock hours of training.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to work with school age children.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Active supervision of students in the school-based child care program.
• Develops and promotes good community relations with school and community clientele.
• Completes tasks assigned by director or leader.
• Follow procedures in ECS Procedures Manual.
• Participates and plays with students in structured and unstructured activities.
• Maintains safe conditions for students and staff.
• Follows and enforces program discipline policies and procedures.
• Assists with maintenance, storage, and repair of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities and curriculum.
• Demonstrates excellent communication with parents, students, staff and coworkers.
• Follows district policies and uses district facilities with care.
