Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers is seeking an assistant for the school-based child care program to supervise students under the guidance of a qualified leader and director. This role supports community relations and program activities within the school setting.

Candidates must be at least 16, complete required training annually, and obtain First Aid/CPR within 30 days. Strong communication with parents and staff is essential, along with the ability to work with diverse groups of children.

Qualifications

• The assistant must be at least 16 years of age.
• Assistants must work directly under supervision of the director, assistant director or leader.
• Each year of employment, the assistant must complete at least 15 clock hours of training.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• The assistant must demonstrate an ability to work with school age children.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Completes all tasks assigned by director, assistant director, or leader.
• Follow procedures as stated in the ECS Procedures Manual.
• Participates and plays with students in structured and unstructured activities.
• Maintains safe conditions for students and staff.
• Follows and enforces program discipline policies and procedures.
• Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, curriculum, and program quality.
• Demonstrates excellent communication with parents, students, school staff and co workers.
• Follows district policies and goals and uses district facilities with care.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
