Job summary

BrightBee is seeking a paraprofessional to support students after school in local schools. You may work 1:1 with a student or assist a classroom with a teacher. The role offers flexible 2–5 days per week scheduling and potential for long‑term opportunities.

Training is provided to help you get started. Responsibilities include supporting learning activities, using positive reinforcement for behavior, and assisting during lunch and recess while collaborating with staff.

Qualifications

• 48 college credits required.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• RBT experience is a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish proficiency.

What You’ll Do

As a BrightBee After School Paraprofessional, you’ll support students in local schools—helping them learn, grow, and succeed. You might work 1:1 with a student or support a classroom alongside a teacher. No two days are the same—but every day matters. During your interview we will go into detail about what assignments are available at these sites. The more sites and assignment types you are open to working, the more your earning potential is

Before You Start

To keep students safe, you’ll need to:

• Pass a background check
• Follow safety and reporting guidelines
• Complete required school clearances which you are responsible for paying.
  • Costs associated with the clearance process are the sole responsibility of the candidate, as this engagement is for an independent contractor role rather than a traditional employment position. Requirements vary by state but may include the cost of a background check, obtaining a copy of any college transcript you have, and the cost of completing Mandated Reporter training. The average cost of completing clearance in California is around $130.
