Job summary

BrightBee is seeking paraprofessionals to support students in local schools, helping them learn, grow, and succeed. You may work 1:1 with a student or in a classroom alongside a teacher, with assignment variety across sites.

Roles offer flexible scheduling (2–5 days/week, 7:30am-3:30pm); background checks, clearances, and potential training are required. This independent-contractor position emphasizes safety and community impact.

Qualifications

• 48 college credits required.
• Experience working with students with severe disabilities preferred.
• RBT experience a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish required or highly desirable.

What You’ll Do

As a BrightBee Paraprofessional, you’ll support students in local schools—helping them learn, grow, and succeed. You might work 1:1 with a student or support a classroom alongside a teacher. No two days are the same—but every day matters. We are currently partnered with Rocketship Public Schools. During your interview we will go into detail about what assignments are available at these sites. The more sites and assignment types you are open to working, the more your earning potential is

Before You Start

To keep students safe, you’ll need to:

• Pass a background check
• Follow safety and reporting guidelines
• Complete required school clearances which you are responsible for paying
  • Costs associated with the clearance process are the sole responsibility of the candidate, as this engagement is for an independent contractor role rather than a traditional employment position. Requirements vary by state but may include the cost of a background check, obtaining a copy of any college transcript you have, and the cost of completing Mandated Reporter training. The average cost of completing clearance in California for paraprofessional roles is between $288-$303.
