Job summary

Pocahontas County Schools in West Virginia is seeking a Substitute Teacher for the Learning Beyond the Bell / 21st Century Community Learning Centers program. You will supervise students, deliver lesson plans, and provide instructional support during after-school hours in contract/hourly positions.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and a WV teaching credential or substitute permit; background check and adherence to policy 5202; experience with school-age learners is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education or a related field.
• Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate, Substitute Permit, Long-Term Substitute Permit, or other credential appropriate for the assignment.
• Meet applicable requirements established by West Virginia Board of Education Policy 5202.
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-10 and applicable state requirements.
• Experience working with school-age students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and activities provided by the regular program teacher.
• Provide academic support and enrichment aligned with program goals.
• Supervise students during after-school sessions and enrichment activities.
• Maintain a safe, supportive learning environment and attend required trainings.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding student participation to coordinators.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field

Valid WV Teaching Certificate / Substitute Permit
