Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher and appropriate WV substitute permit or teaching certificate.
• Valid WV substitute permits or teaching credentials.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and supervision as directed by the regular teacher to maintain continuity of instruction.
• Follow lesson plans, schedules, and classroom procedures to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Maintain attendance and required documentation as directed by the school or regular teacher.
• Establish and maintain a respectful classroom culture and appropriate student behavior.
• Communicate with administrators and regular teachers regarding student progress and needs.
• Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent, or designee.

Education

High school diploma, bachelor's degree, or other qualifications as required for the applicable West Virginia substitute permit, authorization, or teaching certificate.

Valid West Virginia Substitute Teaching Permit, Short-Term Substitute Permit, Long-Term Substitute Permit, Professional Teaching Certificate, or other credential appropriate for the assignment.

Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-10.
