Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) seeks an Inclusion Specialist to deliver inclusive, engaging programming for K-12 youth. You will collaborate with staff, school-day personnel, and families to provide individualized supports, accommodations, and restorative practices that promote belonging and student success.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed approaches, equity, and culturally responsive activities, with a focus on building skills in self-regulation, peer connections, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth in educational, afterschool, enrichment, recreation, or community-based settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships with youth and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, socioeconomic, and ability backgrounds.
• Ability to work during after-school hours and commit through the academic school year.
• Successful completion of background clearance, TB clearance, and required trainings.
• Basic proficiency with email, Google Drive, and related technology platforms.
• Ability to implement accommodations and collaborate effectively with school-day and expanded learning staff.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships and foster a strong sense of belonging for all students.
• Support students’ social-emotional learning (SEL) through relationship-building and restorative practices.
• Provide individualized and small-group support for inclusion students promoting dignity and independence.
• Address conflict, bullying, exclusion, and behavioral concerns using restorative approaches.
• Maintain professional relationships with families and caregivers and protect confidentiality.

Education

Associate degree or higher, 48 college units, or passage of the Instructional Aide examination
