Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking an after-school coordinator to lead engaging activities for K–12 students and foster inclusive relationships. You will supervise groups, support behavior, and provide homework help within a safe setting.

The position requires after-school availability, a background check, and mandatory trainings. BACR emphasizes trauma-informed approaches, collaboration with schools and families, and an inclusive, equity-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher (or 48 college units) or pass Instructional Aide exam.
• Criminal background check and TB test clearance required.
• Ability to work after-school hours and through the academic year (some summer/intersession work).
• Experience working with kids; ability to lead and supervise up to 22 students independently.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging academic, enrichment, recreation, and SEL activities for K–12 students.
• Build positive relationships to foster belonging, confidence, and engagement.
• Support student behavior using restorative and trauma-informed practices.
• Provide homework assistance and adapt activities for diverse learners.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment for students from all backgrounds.
• Supervise groups of up to 22 youth during activities; collaborate with staff and families.
• Maintain attendance, incident reports, and program documentation.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and coaching.
• Represent BACR professionally in communication and conduct.
