Job summary

Family Relief Resources (FRR) is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a friendly, social child in Milwaukie, OR after school. This role involves in-home care and community activities to promote independence and safety.

The DSP will assist with routines, communication, and supervision, with requirements including 18+, background check, CPR/First Aid, and a minimum of 15 hours per month.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Patient, calm, and able to maintain strong boundaries.
• Strong communication skills to simplify instructions.
• Reliable, attentive, and safety-focused.
• Client is under 18; transportation not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with picking up the client from her bus stop after school and ensure safe transition.
• Support hygiene routines and independence with bathroom use.
• Provide supervision and engagement during community outings.
• Use simple, clear communication and step-by-step instructions.
• Maintain a structured, predictable environment and encourage independence.
