Job summary

Family Relief Resources (FRR) is looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / In Home Care Giver to support a 12-year-old client at home in SE Portland and in the community. You will help with hygiene, daily routines, and social activities to foster independence and safety.

Applicants should be patient, reliable, and comfortable in a home with a small dog. A valid CPR/First Aid certification, background check, and pre-hire training are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• A patient, positive and outgoing DSP.
• Ability to encourage independence while providing appropriate support and supervision.
• Comfortable supporting hygiene and self-care routines.
• Active, engaging, dependable and enjoys working with children.
• Comfortable working in a home with a small dog.

Responsibilities

• Cares for a client in their home and community to develop independence and social skills.
• Assists with daily living activities including oral hygiene, grooming, showering and dressing.
• Maintains progress notes and communicates with the family and agency.
• Ensures safety during transportation and community activities.
