1D0128G

Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays after school from 3:45 PM - 6:45 PM. End time may be flexible based on client and family needs.

We are seeking a patient, attentive, and engaging DSP to support a friendly and social child in Milwaukie. The ideal candidate will be calm, consistent, and able to use simple, clear communication while promoting independence.

The client is verbal and enjoys interacting with others but needs support expressing herself when upset. She benefits from structured, predictable routines and step-by-step guidance. She is working on potty training and needs hourly bathroom support, wears underwear at home, and a pull-up in the community. She has a diagnosis of Autism and Dyspraxia, which affects her balance and coordination and requires attentive supervision for safety.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with picking up client from her bus stop after school and ensuring a safe transition into services.
  • Ensure appropriate hygiene routines, including supporting her to wear underwear at home during the day and a pull-up in the community, while actively building her independence with bathroom usage.

This role involves caring for a client on an individual basis in their home environment as well as taking them out into the community to learn skills and socialize. This role varies depending on the client but can involve teaching skills of independent living such as self-care, behavior management, budgeting, cooking, shopping and cleaning. Family Relief Resources is not a physical facility -100% of activities happen in the community or a client’s home.

  • Patient, Kind, and Positive
    - Helping those with disabilities requires a person who can be patient in all situations, show kindness, and have a positive attitude toward the client and other members of the client’s family even in challenging situations.
