Job summary

Fitchburg Public Schools is seeking a 21st Century Out-of-School Time Nurse to support after-school programs across multiple sites in Fitchburg, MA.

The nurse will manage health needs, dispense medications as needed, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with site coordinators to ensure a safe, healthy environment for students during program hours.

This stipend position requires a MA RN license, School Nurse credential, CPR/AED certification, and a commitment through the full program duration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college; Master's Degree preferred.
• Massachusetts DESE license in School Nurse.
• Must hold a Massachusetts RN License and have a current CPR/AED certification.
• Experience in the area of support is preferred.
• Preference given to FPS staff and commitment to the full duration of the program.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for nursing and health needs of school-age students during after-school hours, including any medication distribution and emergency first aid.
• Organize a daily schedule to provide services at one school site.
• Maintain appropriate records.
• Communicate with the 21st Century district director, site coordinator, and school principals as needed.
• Follow COVID Protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.
