Job summary

Good Shepherd Services is seeking a Group Leader for its after-school program in New York. The role includes overall supervision, activity planning, and ensuring participant safety after school hours.

Hours are up to 20 per week, with a school-year schedule 2pm–6pm, Monday through Friday. Salary ranges from $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, non-exempt, and the position emphasizes youth development and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED and 1 year related experience in leading and participating in youth group activities.
• Experience building camp culture through chants, team building, and community building preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervision and management of the group.
• Engage participants in after-school activities and model positive behavior.
• Ensure safety of participants at all times.
• Develop and facilitate a sequenced curriculum and activities including arts & crafts.
• Plan culminating events to showcase participant learning.
• Maintain records and attendance for the group.
• Engage with parents and guardians professionally.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
