Job summary

Good Shepherd Services is seeking an Assistant Group Leader to support staff in delivering after-school educational and enrichment activities. This role involves supervising participants, assisting with sports, arts, and instructional activities, and helping maintain a safe, engaging environment.

The position reports to the Program Director (PS306) and offers up to 20 hours per week as a non-exempt role, with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable and consistent work habits; ability to work with youth.
• Available during the program hours listed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment.
• Commitment to a strength-based/youth development approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist the group leader with engaging activities (sports, arts, crafts, education).
• Collect attendance and data as needed.
• Supervise participants throughout the afterschool program.
• Distribute snacks and assist with clean-up.
• Enforce program rules and uphold afterschool model.
• Support instructors with lessons and activities.
• Collaborate to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
• Follow all GSS, DYCD and SACC regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
