Job summary

arc is seeking a Specialized Instructor to deliver interactive enrichment lessons at Animo Oscar De La Hoya Charter High School in Los Angeles, CA. This part-time, non-exempt position reports to the Site Coordinator.

You will develop syllabi, manage attendance and safety, and recruit students on campus while upholding program requirements and maintaining engaging, age-appropriate instruction.

Qualifications

• Availability to work set school programming hours, including early dismissal days and weekends.
• Experience facilitating specialized curriculum to students.
• Experience working in school settings, after school programs, or youth recreational facilities.
• Experience in working with ethnic and culturally diverse communities.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Current CPR Certification (adult, child, and infant).
• To qualify for higher levels of the Specialized Instructor position, teaching credentials may be required and must be on file with HR.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate a full syllabus and lesson plans for enrichment activities approved by Site Coordinator.
• Manage students sign in/out, complete incident reports, and follow program compliance requirements.
• Instruct the scheduled enrichment time block and meet required student-instructor ratios.
• Market and advertise the enrichment program on campus to generate participant interest.
• Demonstrate leadership and empower youth to reach their full potential.
• Use safety protocols for indoor/outdoor settings and maintain classroom safety expectations.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally for program operations.
