Job summary

DREAM is seeking a K-8 after school enrichment specialist in East Harlem to design and deliver engaging activities across Pre-K to 8 with a focus on literacy integration. Sessions run 3 days a week, 3:00pm–6:15pm, with a supportive team including Youth Workers and a Dean of Student Life.

Compensation ranges by experience and budget, and includes a path to the DREAM Teaching Fellowship. Ideal candidates have a strong passion for youth development, excellent communication, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old by the role’s start date.
• High school diploma required; degree or certification preferred.
• 2+ years experience working with youth or similar settings.
• Ability to independently plan and implement lessons in a specialty area.
• Strong commitment to DREAM’s mission and youth development.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver enrichment lesson plans for Pre-K to 8.
• Deliver activities aligned to DREAM program model with culminating projects.
• Collaborate with Youth Workers and leadership for cohesive experiences.
• Embed literacy throughout instruction and prepare materials.
• Facilitate activities safely, within budget, and maintain a positive environment.
• Serve as a role model and uphold professional conduct; in-person hours required.
