Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, FL seeks an Education Instructor (part-time) to provide homework help, tutoring, and academic enrichment for youths aged 6-18. You will support literacy, numeracy, and STEM activities and help maintain an organized learning space.

Requirements include a high school diploma (associate or bachelor’s preferred) and Emergency First Aid & CPR certification; prior experience with children in educational or afterschool settings is ideal.

Qualifications

• Must possess Emergency First Aid & CPR Certificate.
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in education, Youth Development, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with children and youth in an educational or afterschool setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework help, tutoring, and academic enrichment activities for members.
• Assist in implementing literacy, numeracy, and STEM-based learning programs.
• Support students with different learning styles and needs, reinforcing positive study habits.
• Encourage member participation in academic programs and assist with project-based learning.
• Help organize and implement structured learning activities, ensuring they are engaging and effective.
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all members.
• Serve as a mentor and role model, encouraging positive attitudes toward learning.
• Support students in developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and academic independence.
• Assist in maintaining records of student progress and participation.
• Set up learning materials, manage supplies, and maintain an organized educational space.
