Job summary

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work with a nonverbal 11-year-old boy in the Syracuse, NY area. The position is per diem, after school, with hours from 4:30pm to 8pm and an anticipated ~15 hours per week, paid at $26 per hour.

Applicants must have a valid driver's license, be at least 18, and demonstrate reliable transportation. A background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be completed prior to hire through the non‑profit agency.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsibilities

• The DSP will assist him in developing social skills, learning to complete his ADLs, Teach him safety skills.
• DSP will Encourage and assist him with overall health, safety, and daily living activities.
• Also Providing 1:1 service to ensure his safety
