Job summary

Indera is seeking a 1:1 Direct Support Professional to assist a 16-year-old girl in Oneida, NY with community activities after school, identifying safety concerns and encouraging positive communication. This is a part-time role with potential extra hours as more services are provided.

The ideal candidate is patient, creative, and engaging, enjoys community activities, and is willing to travel locally. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist a 16-year-old female with community activities, identify safety issues and work on positive communication skills.
• Be creative, engaging, active and patient; willing to travel to different locations in the community.
• Help her explore new activities and interests and make her feel comfortable while out in the community.
