Job summary

Indera seeks a Direct Support Professional for a 1:1, part-time role in Syracuse, NY. The candidate will assist a 38-year-old client with budgeting, community participation, and activity planning, while promoting independence and safety in daily routines.

Ideal applicants are patient, communicate clearly, and can handle verbally assertive situations. Starting pay is $17.50/hour with increases based on experience and tenure, working Monday–Friday 3:30–6:00 PM, with potential extra hours.

Qualifications

• Must have effective communication and organizational skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site on time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a 38-year-old female in Syracuse, assisting with money management and community activities.
• Encourage budgeting and prioritization of essential expenses over non-essentials.
• Create engaging activities aligned with her interests and promote community involvement.
• Be flexible with assignments and available for additional hours with other clients.
