Job summary

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist a 15-year-old boy in the Syracuse, NY area. The role focuses on developing social skills, helping with daily living activities, and promoting safety and health through 1:1 support in the community and at home.

The ideal candidate is reliable, patient, energetic, and able to work independently with flexible after-school hours roughly 4 hours per week. A background check and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check required.
• Experience with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must be able to download multiple apps for use in the community and follow policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to the youth in community activities.
• Assist with ADLs and safety skills.
• Encourage health and daily living activities.
• Communicate effectively with family and staff.
