Job summary

iCook/ iSTEAM After School is an innovative educational program delivering hands-on after-school cooking and nutrition education for children in grades K-4. Instructors lead 1-hour classes in the afternoon (typically 2–5pm), with scheduling dependent on school availability and onboarding.

Pay is $60 per class with a co-instructor or $80 per class when teaching independently, with groceries reimbursed separately.

Qualifications

• Experience working with large groups of kids in school, camp, or similar settings.
• Enthusiasm for teaching, cooking and nutrition.
• Effective classroom management and engagement skills.
• Punctuality and reliable transportation to assigned locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead after-school cooking/STEAM classes for K-4 students.
• Teach provided nutrition and healthy-eating lesson plans in an engaging way.
• Demonstrate basic cutting, measuring, food safety, and table manners.
• Purchase groceries for each class (reimbursed separately).
