Job summary

iCook After School is seeking instructors to lead after-school cooking and STEAM classes for elementary students (K-4) in the DC area. You will deliver engaging, hands-on lessons, promoting healthy eating and exploring cultures through food.

Classes run from 3–5pm, typically one hour, up to five per week. Pay is $80 per class, with grocery reimbursements. Must be 18+, eligible for DCPS clearance, and able to travel to schools.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a DCPS Clearance.
• DCPS clearance must be completed prior to working in DCPS schools.
• Experience with large groups of kids in school settings or camps.
• Enthusiastic about teaching, cooking and nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Lead after school cooking/STEAM classes for elementary students (K-4).
• Teach provided lesson plans related to basics of nutrition and healthy eating.
• Introduce basic cutting and measuring techniques, food safety, table manners and other concepts from the curriculum.
• Purchase groceries for each class; groceries reimbursed separately.
