Job summary

Queens Community House (QCH) is seeking a Content Specialist for our Youth Development Center after-school programs. This part-time role supports curriculum development and project-based learning, and helps staff deliver engaging educational experiences for elementary and middle school youth after school.

You will promote positive youth development, coach staff, and ensure lesson plans align with NYS standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred.
Classroom teaching experience with elementary and/or middle school students is preferred.
Strong knowledge of New York State Common Core Standards and curriculum development.
Knowledge of project-based learning and positive youth development practices.
Exceptional coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Curriculum & Program Quality: Ensure project-based learning and positive youth development across activities; align curriculum with NYS standards; submit end-of-cycle reports.
Staff Coaching & Development: Observe staff, provide feedback, model lessons, maintain coaching logs, conduct quarterly on-site PD.
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities: Build relations with school partners; attend meetings and trainings; contribute to quality improvement.
