Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a Childcare Provider 2 to assist the Childcare Specialist with planning before and after school activities and supervising students during the 2:15-6:15pm shift.

The role is non-exempt and requires a high school diploma or equivalent with childcare experience, and may require credentials; DPS FPCC clearance and ongoing health training are expected. This position emphasizes safe, respectful care and program readiness.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and six months of qualifying child care experience;
• At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university including at least 6 credits in in early childhood education and 6 months qualifying childcare experience.
• N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or
• Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of early childhood, child development or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and community.
• Make sure that site and activities are prepared prior to children’s arrival.
• Supervise the children at all times.
• Administer first aid when necessary.
• Treat every child with respect.
• Maintain acceptable behavior standards and make sure that behavior is consistent with district and program policy.
• Keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities.
• Share and participate in clean up activities.
• Annually complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training per department of Health Services regulations.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
