Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools seeks an After/Before-School Certified tutor to design and deliver academic, social, physical, and skill development for students in targeted grades and subjects.

You will generate tutoring plans, work with small groups and individuals, reinforce classroom instruction, and collaborate with teachers to collect data and prepare reports. CPR/First Aid certification preferred; Associate's Degree or two years of college required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's Degree or two years of college (minimum 48 sem hours) in progress.
• One year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Generates tutoring plans for each student detailing goals and enrichment activities for home and school; assesses and documents progress.
• Develops and assists students with academic exercises, focusing on small groups and individuals as needed.
• Compiles and organizes materials and classroom for instruction and learning activities.
• Reinforces knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher.
• Assists teachers with daily routines, instructions, and concepts; provides instructional support as needed.
