Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for the After School Program at Cornwall Consolidated School in West Cornwall, CT. The role runs 3:00–5:30 pm after school, following the school calendar, and is part-time and non-exempt.

You’ll help run activities, supervise children aged 5–12, and support learning through play. A positive attitude, HS diploma, and TB health clearance are required; employer-paid childcare benefits are available for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older and a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands‑on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
