Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for Horace W. Porter School in Columbia, CT for the 2026–2027 school year. The role supports morning and/or afternoon programs, fostering development through play, learning, and structured activities.

This position offers a part-time schedule (non-exempt) aligned with the school calendar. A HS diploma and commitment to safety and teamwork are essential; prior childcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
