The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington invites applications for a Children Support Specialist in Rockville, MD. The role supports children and adolescents with developmental disabilities in our after-school program, delivering individualized activities aligned with each child’s plan.

You will plan lessons, track progress, coordinate transportation, and collaborate with a team to ensure quality services, compliance, and family satisfaction.

Formación

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Coursework/Background in Child Care, Education, Allied Health, Human Services, preferred.
• Experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum and/or students with cognitive delays.
• One year of experience working independently in the home and in the community as an instructor.

Responsabilidades

• Provide instructional support in developing independent communication using family/school preferences.
• Plan comprehensive lessons to teach skills for independence at home and in the community.
• Organize community outings to broaden cultural, educational, and social experiences.
• Implement Individual Plan/Treatment Plan through engaging activities.
• Document progress via daily/quarterly notes and portfolios.
• Document incidents per behavior management plan and assist with corrective actions.
• Transport children to/from approved outings in Agency vehicles.
• Participate in team meetings and ensure quality, compliance, and consumer satisfaction.
