Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington seeks an OCC Teacher to oversee services for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities in after-school, respite, and summer camp programs.

Responsibilities include adapting curricula, documenting progress, and supervising staff and volunteers. The role requires a driver’s license and collaboration with the Maryland Community Services leadership. Hybrid work exists with in-office and remote elements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 semesters/90 clock hours in approved school-age coursework; 400 hours with school-age children or 1 year of college.
• Or teacher/educational director for K-8, or MSDE/other state teaching certificate for K-8.
• Or bachelor's in ECE/elementary/special ed/child development.
• Or bachelor's in any subject with 1800 hours of school-age experience.
• 100 hours experience with students on the autism spectrum.

Responsibilities

• Adapts and modifies lesson plans from the school curriculum to support student progression.
• Collects data to document progress toward Core Curriculum and IFSP goals.
• Meets with the Director of Maryland Community Services regarding student goals and needs.
• Prepares and implements student academic goals using curriculum-based checkpoints.
• Maintains documentation on student participation, achievements, and parental contacts.
• Oversees staff, program aides, and volunteers in after-school, summer camp, and respite programs.
• Oversees case management for participants in after-school, summer camp, and respite programs.
• Provides feedback and correction of interactions by staff or volunteers.
• Reports incidents promptly to the Program Manager.
• Safely transports participants to community outings in agency vehicles as scheduled.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
