Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington seeks a dedicated OCC Teacher to oversee services for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and/or autism in after-school, respite, and summer camp programs.

You will adapt lessons, track progress toward goals, and collaborate with program leadership to ensure high-quality care and safe, supportive environments. This role requires driving, documentation, and cross-team coordination.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• College coursework completed or 1 year of college (30 semester hours).
• 6 semesters or 90 clock hours of approved school-age coursework.
• Or teacher/educational director certification (MSDE or other state) for K-8.
• Or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, elementary education, special education, or child development.
• Or bachelor’s degree in any subject with 1800 hours of experience working with school-age children.
• 100 hours of experience with students on the Autism Spectrum or cognitive delays.

Responsibilities

• Adapts and modifies lesson plans to support students’ progress.
• Collects data to document progress toward Core Curriculum and IFSP goals.
• Meets with the Director of Maryland Community Services about student goals and needs.
• Prepares and implements student academic goal plans with curriculum-based checkpoints.
• Maintains documentation on student participation, achievements, and parental contacts.
• Supports staff in after-school, summer camp, and respite programs.
• Oversees case management for participants in programs.
• Supervises Program Aids and Volunteers; provides feedback on interactions.
• Reports incidents to the Program Manager immediately.
• Transports participants in agency vehicles when needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
