Great Hearts Arizona - CMO is seeking an After-School Program Assistant in Scottsdale to supervise students and assist with activities after school.

The position is part-time, seasonal, and hourly, with a 15.50–16.50 USD/hour pay range. Duties include homework help, supervising up to 20 students, and delivering lessons from a classical curriculum under staff supervision.

Qualifications

• Some experience or college preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 17 years of age and have a high school diploma/equivalent or currently enrolled in high school/equivalent.
• First aid/CPR certification preferred but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 20 students in a classroom setting under a qualified staff member.
• Facilitate homework, recess, and other activities.
• Present lessons from provided classical curriculum.
• Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality programs.
• Follow all licensing rules and regulations per AZDHS.
• Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior and significant events.
• Escalate incident reports and significant events to supervisor.
• Substitute at another campus when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

This is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring educators or for those who love working with children. This is a part-time, seasonal, non-exempt, non-benefited position. After-school programs are open Monday-Friday from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. (earlier start on early release days). Approximately 15-20 hours per week.Duties and Responsibilities:Supervise up to 20 students in a classroom setting under the supervision of a qualified staff member per AZDHS.Facilitate homework, recess, and other activities.Present lessons from provided classical curriculum.Utilize appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies.Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality programs.Follow all licensing rules and regulations per AZDHS.Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior and significant events.Escalate incident reports and significant events to supervisor.Substitute at another campus when needed.Other duties as assigned.Required/Preferred Education: Some experience or college preferred but not required. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. Running, jumping and other rapid movements may also be required.
