Great Hearts Louisiana - CMO is seeking an After-School Program Assistant to supervise students and assist with activities after school. This part-time, seasonal role supports a Lead Teacher and follows the academy’s classical curriculum.

You'll work about 15–20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with pay $15.50–$16.50 per hour. Candidates should be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma or be enrolled; first aid/CPR is preferred but not required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 20 students in a classroom setting under qualified staff.
• Facilitate homework, recess, and other activities.
• Present lessons from provided classical curriculum.
• Follow SOPs to ensure high quality programs and safety.
• Escalate incidents and document significant events to supervisor.
• Substitute at another campus when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

This is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring educators or for those who love working with children. This is a part-time, seasonal, non-exempt, non-benefited position. After-school programs are open Monday-Friday from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. (earlier start on early release days). Approximately 15-20 hours per week.Duties and Responsibilities:Supervise up to 20 students in a classroom setting under the supervision of a qualified staff member per AZDHS.Facilitate homework, recess, and other activities.Present lessons from provided classical curriculum.Utilize appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies.Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality programs.Follow all licensing rules and regulations per AZDHS.Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior and significant events.Escalate incident reports and significant events to supervisor.Substitute at another campus when needed.Other duties as assigned.Required/Preferred Education: Some experience or college preferred but not required. Must be at least 17 years of age and have a high school diploma/equivalent or currently enrolled in high school/equivalent. First aid/CPR certification preferred but not required.Required/Preferred Skills: The successful candidate will be a principled, professional leader with an independent work ethic and a heart of service to others. They must demonstrate sound business judgment and wisdom in dealing with people. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. Running, jumping and other rapid movements may also be required.
