Job summary

Charlotte Latin School is seeking dedicated Assistant Teachers for our Grade 4 and 5 Extended Day (Hawks Club) classrooms beginning in August 2026. The Extended Day Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher by planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, supervising students, and maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging after-school program.

This is a 10-month, Monday–Friday position with hours from 12:30 to 6:00 pm, and includes collaboration with families and staff, plus regular

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• Previous experience working with school-age children required
• Safety procedures, First Aid and CPR are essential

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities
• Assist with setup of activities and materials; daily classroom cleanup and organization
• Lead small group activities to support learning and play
• Assist with homework support for 1st–5th grades
• Provide indoor/outdoor supervision for safety and learning
• Support and supervise off-campus excursions
• Communicate professionally with parents and staff
• Attend monthly staff meetings
• Work 12 teacher workdays during the academic year (hours 7:30–4:30)
