Job summary

Charter One’s Academy of Before & Aftercare is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant at the American Leadership Academy-Charlotte campus. The role supports the Site Administrator in creating a safe, engaging environment for students outside regular hours, with hours from 2:15 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

The position involves supervising students, facilitating activities, assisting with homework, and communicating with parents and the site coordinator. CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass Background Check.
• At least 18 years of age or older.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during before and after school program hours, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Engage students in age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, and outdoor play.
• Provide homework support and guidance to students.
• Help students stay organized and focused on completing homework tasks.
• Promote respectful behavior and conflict resolution among students.
• Set up and organize classroom or activity areas before or after program hours.
• Maintain attendance records for students and staff.
• Document student progress and behavior incidents for reporting purposes.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
