Waynflete School in Portland, ME seeks an Assistant Extended Day Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time, 10-month, on-site role starts September 1, 2026 and reports to the Manager of Auxiliary Programs.

You will supervise grade level groups across EC to 8, assist with activities, and maintain a safe, engaging environment with a 15.5-hour weekly schedule and potential for extra hours.

Competenze

• 1+ years of experience working with children in an educational setting.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certified preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Dedicated to working collaboratively with a diverse team of talented teachers
• Passion for working with children and creating meaningful experiences.
• Describe yourself as kind, friendly, patient, flexible, creative and energetic!

Mansioni

• Supervise grade level groups: EC, K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8
• Be in person for all days and hours noted below.
• Work at least one First Out (5:30pm) per week
• Assist with activities such as: games, songs, program projects and more.
• Interact with students and colleague from a place of enthusiasm, curiosity and professionalism.
• Keep the safety of students in mind at all times.
• Diligently track attendance including student workshop transitions
• Complete prep and end of day clean up responsibilities.
• Communicate incidents in a timely manner to the Auxiliary Programs Manager.
• Participate in all of the Full Fun Days (dates)
• Complete DHHS requirements: fingerprinting approval, MRTQ registration, MMR and Tdap vaccination records, online safety training, professional development hours, etc.
