Where learning starts with wondering and feels like playing. Waynflete knows how much our youngest learners need to feel connected—to their teachers, to their friends, and to their ever-expanding world. The energy and excitement that fuels these days of discovery and deep learning can be felt throughout our close-knit community, where every child is seen and supported for who they are.
Using the Reggio Emilia approach, our Early Childhood instructors create immersive, multidisciplinary, in-the-moment learning experiences to spark and support the natural curiosity and creativity of each child.

To that end, the Extended Day Program addresses students’ needs at the end of the school day with a variety of activities which include arts and crafts, sports, hands-on science exploration, team building challenges, outdoor play and exploration, walking field trips, STEAM, cooking projects, multi-generational lessons, and giving back to the greater Portland community.
