Job summary

Partnership with Children is seeking an Activity Specialist for its after-school program in New York City. You will deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities and help create a nurturing, safe environment that supports children's creativity and academic growth.

The role requires at least an Associate or Bachelor's degree and experience coordinating groups of children; STEM teaching experience is a plus. This part-time, in-person position runs 15–22.5 hours weekly, with afternoons Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years in specialization.
• A minimum of one year of experience overseeing and managing groups of children.
• Must have a strong interest in working with children and be sensitive to social-emotional needs of students.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program staff, school personnel, parents.

Responsibilities

• Create a supportive and nurturing environment for the group.
• Ensure the safety of all children.
• Facilitate programmatic elements for the group.
• Provide age-appropriate activities according to the schedule and class.
• Develop and execute engaging lessons in STEM, arts, and other activities.
• Prepare materials and hand-outs for lessons.
• Coordinate student performances for showcases.
• Attend team and supervision meetings and trainings.
