Partnership with Children in New York City is seeking an After-School Program Activity Specialist to lead and facilitate engaging activities for school‑aged children after school. You will design age‑appropriate lessons in STEM, arts, dance, cooking or sports, ensure safety, and collaborate with staff to create a nurturing learning environment.

This in-person, part‑time role requires at least an associate or bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years of group management experience; salary is $27 per hour,

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years in specialization.
• Minimum of one year of experience overseeing and managing groups of children.
• Strong interest in working with children and sensitivity to social-emotional needs.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program staff, school personnel, parents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a supportive and nurturing group environment.
• Ensure the safety of all children.
• Facilitate programmatic elements for the group.
• Provide age-appropriate activities according to the schedule.
• Develop and execute engaging lesson plans in STEM, arts, dance, vocal, cooking, or sports.
• Prepare materials and hand-outs for lessons.
• Coordinate student performances for showcases.
• Attend team meetings and professional development trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
