Job summary

The City of Boise is seeking an After School Recreation Attendant to help create a safe, welcoming environment for youth after school. The position typically runs weekdays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

at school-based community centers, with a focus on supervision and positive youth interaction. You will lead games, sports, arts and crafts, and activities for ages 5–17, prepare materials, and support staff with basic instruction and safety measures.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age for elementary supervision.
• Must be 18 years of age for junior high and above supervision.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• 1 year experience volunteering or working with youths/teens.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe and welcoming after-school environment for youth ages 5-17.
• Lead games, sports, arts and crafts, and other activities.
• Prepare materials and supplies for youth arts and crafts projects.
• Encourage and engage youth in indoor and outdoor activities.
• Monitor equipment and report repairs to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
