Job summary

Treasure Valley Family YMCA Caldwell is seeking School Age Teachers to join the Child Development team. You will help create a safe, engaging after-school environment and support children’s growth with a developmentally appropriate program.

Schedule is 3:00pm–6:00pm, Monday through Friday, averaging 15–20 hours weekly. Pay ranges from $15.45 to $19.31 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to a supportive community that values inclusion and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Minimum 1 year working with children is preferred.
• Able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
• Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; be sensitive, adaptable and articulate.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that fosters safety through active supervision and role modeling safe behavior.
• Nurture children through purposeful programs focused on relationships, achievement and belonging.
• Develop relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants and parents.
• Implement the established curriculum.
• Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support development and behavior.
• Monitor health and safety by following leading practices.
• Apply Y Core Values and developmentally appropriate teaching strategies for each child.
