Job summary

SLB in Houston is seeking a Sales Representative After Market for valves to build strong relationships with assigned accounts and promote services and products within the valve portfolio.

You will plan client visits, qualify opportunities, and manage the opportunity pipeline in the CRM, collaborating with management on sales goals and travel to support customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or related field, OR equivalent industry experience.
  • 3+ years of sales experience in oil & gas equipment, valves, flow control, or similar industrial products preferred.
  • Experience selling into upstream, midstream, refining, petrochemical, or power generation sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan client calls and regular client visits to ensure call coverage of assigned accounts.
  • Maintain CRM for accounts, including profiling, organization charts, visit reports, and customer drivers.
  • Create and action an approved sales plan for assigned account(s).
  • Identify and qualify all sales leads and opportunities.
  • Maintain opportunity pipeline in CRM.
  • Work with management to develop sales goals and coordinate plans for promoting services and products.
  • Monitor price structure and pricing levels and recommend changes.

Job description

The Sales Representative After Market is responsible for establishing and building relationships with assigned customers for Valves. The Sales Representative promotes the sale of Business Lline products and services to assigned accounts, and optimizes sales opportunities through in-depth knowledge of client activities and plans. This person grows market share and revenue with assigned accounts for Services After Market in Valves.

  • Plan client calls and makes regular client visits to ensure appropriate call coverage of assigned accounts.
  • Ensure customer problems arising from sales are responded to and appropriately managed.
  • Maintain C4C for accounts, including customer profiling, organizational chart, visit reports, and customer drivers.
  • Create and action an approved sales plan for assigned account(s).
  • Capture customer BL and all local and international competitor activity (GAC).
  • Identify and qualify all sales leads and opportunities.
  • Maintain opportunity pipeline in C4C.
  • Work with management to develop sales goals and coordinate sales plans for promoting existing services and products and introducing new services and products.
  • Monitor price structure and pricing levels and recommend necessary changes and price increases.
  • Attend training courses to maintain knowledge of key technologies and competitor offerings and practices.
  • Provide support for receivables management.
  • Contribute to multi-BL activities.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or related field, OR equivalent industry experience.
Experience
  • 3+ years of sales experience in oil & gas equipment, valves, flow control, or similar industrial products preferred in the Permian basin.
  • Experience selling into upstream, midstream, refining, petrochemical, or power generation sectors preferred.
  • Prior experience with SLB/Cameron products or engineered equipment is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of valve types (gate, ball, check, plug, choke) and API/ASME industry standards.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, datasheets, and P&IDs.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, SAP, or similar tools.
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High customer focus and professionalism.
  • Willingness to travel (>50%).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SLB, Cameron, or major valve/flow‑control manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with engineered‑to‑order (ETO) product lines.
  • Existing customer relationships in the Permian area.
  • Valve‑specific certifications or training.
