Job summary

Heartland Hospice is seeking an After Hours/On-Call Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, patient-centered care during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays in the Blue Springs area. You will respond to urgent calls, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document visits, and support families while ensuring continuity of care with the daytime team.

This is a safety-sensitive role with a $7,500 sign-on bonus available to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of requested employment (or eligibility to obtain).
• 1+ years of nursing experience.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Comfortable providing care in patients' homes or equivalent settings.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient needs during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Provide direct patient care and support after normal business hours.
• Serve as the primary liaison between patients, families, physicians, and hospice team during your shift.
• Document clinical visits and communications accurately.
• Participate in quality assessment and performance improvement programs.
