Job summary

The Related Companies and its New York team seek a Summer Associate to assist in affordable real estate acquisitions, development, and financial analysis. The role covers underwriting, due diligence, site acquisition, and resident engagement as part of a hands-on program with mentorship.

Interns will prepare detailed financial analyses and models, assist with tax-exempt bond and LIHTC applications, track rehab progress, and support asset management of existing properties.

Qualifications

Undergraduate junior with expected graduation between Dec 2027 and Spring 2028
Pursuing a BA/BS in Finance, Real Estate Finance or Real Estate Development
Strong quantitative and analytical skills; proficient in Excel
Excellent communication in writing and speaking
Self-starter with proactive approach to tasks and challenges

Responsibilities

Support the team in all aspects of affordable real estate acquisitions and development
Prepare financial analyses and underwriting models
Assist with site acquisition, due diligence, and legal document review
Prepare tax-exempt bond and LIHTC applications for live deals
Track rehab progress and assist asset management of portfolio
