City of Boston’s Mayor’s Office of Housing seeks a Program Manager to develop and maintain systems for income‑restricted housing, focusing on equity, transparency, and accountability.

The role provides technical guidance to developers, property managers, and city staff, ensuring compliant marketing and public access to housing opportunities. Strong writing, analysis, and project coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in affordable housing, compliance, resident services, or property management; substitutions may be made.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and follow-up skills required.
• Demonstrated writing, research, analysis, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Google applications and Microsoft Office; Salesforce familiarity preferred.
• Familiarity with operating copy machines.
• Ability to keep records and maintain logs.
• Ability to manage several projects at once.
• Proficiency in more than one language preferred.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and provides feedback on affirmative fair housing marketing and tenant and homebuyer selection plans.
• Oversees developer and property management compliance with all steps of the affirmative marketing process and city policies.
• Provides technical assistance to developers, lottery agents, and property management companies.
• Maintains and develops project auditing systems designed to keep projects on track and in compliance with fair housing contracts.
• Develops and maintains affirmative marketing plan guidance to ensure and expand access to the public.
• Contributes to research and development of resources that make accessing and maintaining affordable housing more transparent.
• Conducts affirmative marketing workshops and presentations for city agencies, developers, and other external agencies and ensures accessibility to the public.
• Collaborates with representatives of city agencies or departments in efforts to expand access to income‑restricted housing opportunities.
• Ensures income‑restricted housing opportunities are marketed and publicized widely, including on the City’s MetroList website.
• Prepares reports of findings as necessary and maintains program files.
• Performs related work as required.
