Job summary

CDS Life Transitions is seeking a Rental Agent to support occupancy, leasing, and resident retention for assigned housing communities in New York. The role serves as the main contact for prospective and current residents, guiding applicants through the leasing process and ensuring accurate records and regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with the Community Manager, maintenance staff, residents, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliant and efficient property operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred in business, property management, or related field.
• Experience in leasing, affordable housing, customer service, or property management preferred.
• Experience with affordable housing programs and regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with marketing and leasing plans to maintain occupancy.
• Respond to inquiries from prospective residents and maintain records.
• Conduct property tours and present housing opportunities.
• Process rental applications per regulatory requirements and policies.
• Coordinate move-in/out scheduling and maintain vacancy data.
• Explain community policies and expectations to residents.
• Process lease renewals and related documentation.
• Maintain resident files and reports for regulatory reviews.
