Job summary

HR Legacy Commercial is seeking a leasing and compliance-focused professional to manage eligibility, applicant files, and occupancy activities for public and affordable housing. You will conduct accurate documentation and coordinate with property management and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of experience in leasing, affordable housing, recertification, occupancy, resident services, property management, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of Fair Housing, resident confidentiality, leasing documentation, and affordable-housing eligibility and file requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Yardi or comparable software, electronic file systems, email, and data-entry platforms.
• Strong customer-service, communication, organization, confidentiality, documentation accuracy, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work on-site and travel between properties as required.

Responsibilities

• Process leasing and occupancy activities including inquiries, applications, waitlists, eligibility, screening, offers, move-ins, transfers and move-outs.
• Collect, verify, organize, and enter income, asset, household, citizenship, student status, and other eligibility information.
• Maintain complete applicant and resident files and support recertification processes and audits.
• Provide professional applicant and resident communication; explain documentation requirements and deadlines; schedule appointments; document contacts; escalate Fair Housing or other issues.
• Coordinate with Property Management and Compliance on occupancy goals, notices, and resolution of documentation discrepancies.
• Support compliance reviews, audit preparation, and follow-up on documentation.
