Job summary

Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio is seeking a Land Acquisition + Development Manager to own the front end of our homebuilding process, from site identification to predevelopment. You will build a multi-year land pipeline across five counties and work with public agencies, landowners, and partners to secure affordable parcels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Minimum of three years in real estate acquisition or land development.
• Experience with due diligence, title review, zoning/entitlement processes, and purchase agreements.
• Experience preparing development budgets, pro formas, or feasibility analyses.
• Knowledge of Ohio real estate transactions and local zoning/land use rules.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Office 365, especially Excel.
• Experience with affordable housing development or nonprofit real estate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate property acquisition opportunities within the service area.
• Proactive outreach to landowners, land banks, municipalities, and partners for opportunities.
• Perform due diligence coordinating title work, surveys, environmental reviews, utilities, and site assessments.
• Prepare due diligence reports, budgets, pro formas, and feasibility analyses for leadership.
• Manage zoning, variances, and other entitlements with local jurisdictions.
• Negotiate purchase, donation, or option agreements with leadership and legal counsel.
• Coordinate closings with title companies and ensure deeds and restrictions match terms.
• Maintain Habitat-owned property inventory and disposition plans.
• Coordinate lot selection with homeowner services to align with family needs.
