Job summary

Fortress OS is a property management software company focused on affordable housing. We seek a Compliance Coordinator to prepare resident files for compliance review, collect verification documents, and coordinate with property teams to resolve items before final review.

The role requires experience with LIHTC, HUD programs, and strong analytical and communication skills. Travel is 10–20% as needed for trainings and events.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in affordable housing leasing, property operations, compliance support, or related role.
• Working knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, HOME, RD/USDA programs.
• Hands-on experience interpreting affordable housing requirements and supporting documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage collection of application and certification documents and supporting records.
• Analyze resident files for completeness and accuracy against program requirements.
• Submit complete packets to Compliance Specialist for review.
• Monitor and track file status in designated systems; prioritize items for timely completion.
• Advise property managers with clear instructions on missing documents and corrections.
• Evaluate deadlines and compliance risk; escalate delays when needed.
• Safeguard confidential applicant and resident information in electronic records.
• Interpret program requirements and escalate complex issues to Compliance Specialist.
• Collaborate with property teams to reduce risks and improve file quality.
