Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) seeks an Affiliation Programs and Communications Coordinator to support affiliation objectives, coordinate research-focused events, and build a digital presence reflecting NEOMED's academic and research community.

Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Transformation, the role handles administrative duties, communications, marketing, and outreach with affiliated hospital partners, faculty, and students, advancing visibility and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum one year of related experience in administrative coordination, communications, marketing, event planning, or research support.
  • Strong written, editing, verbal communication, storytelling, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for affiliation objectives, including scheduling, meetings, minutes, and correspondence.
  • Support purchasing, travel, reimbursements, and expense documentation.
  • Develop communications and digital content to increase awareness of affiliation objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate research-focused events, seminars, and partner meetings.
  • Maintain tracking tools and prepare routine reports for leadership.

Affiliation Programs and Communications Coordinator

Summary: The Affiliation Programs and CommunicationsCoordinator provides administrative support, communications andmarketing, and event planning for affiliation objectives withinNEOMED's major affiliation portfolio, supporting research focusareas and innovation focused objectives involving universityresearchers and clinical faculty from affiliated hospital partnersby strengthening coordination, visibility, engagement, andexecution across initiatives. This role helps expand programawareness, coordinate research-related events, and builds a digitalpresence that reflects the impact of NEOMED's academic and researchcommunity.

Reporting directly to the Director of Strategy and Transformation,this role works closely with affiliation objective leads andcollaborates with project managers assigned to move deliverablesforward.

Principal Functional Responsibilities: Administrative Support and Coordination: Providesadministrative support for research objectives within theaffiliation portfolio, including scheduling, calendar coordination,meeting logistics, agenda preparation, minutes, follow-up, androutine correspondence. Supports committee leads, research areafaculty, clinical faculty partners, and project managers bypreparing materials, maintaining documentation, and coordinatingadministrative next steps. Manages purchasing, travel,reimbursements, invoice processing, P-card reconciliation, expensedocumentation, and equipment tracking. Maintains records, sharedfiles, contact lists, calendars, and tracking tools to supportcommunication, deadlines, and deliverables. Communications, Marketing, and Digital Engagement: Develops communications and digital content that increase awarenessof affiliation objectives, research focus areas, faculty expertise, student experiences, program outcomes, and milestones. Collaborates with faculty, staff, students, project managers, and affiliated hospital partners to gather stories, align messaging, and support acohesive brand experience. Creates and updates content forwebsites, newsletters, brochures, presentations, and social mediaplatforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube. Translates complex scientific, clinical, and academic informationinto accessible content that supports program visibility, researchengagement, and affiliation-related communications. Event Planning and Outreach Support: Plans andcoordinates research-focused events, seminars, workshops,conferences, student engagement activities, networking events, andpartner meetings. Manages event logistics, including registration,room reservations, technology, catering, materials, speakercoordination, agendas, communications, photography or videocoordination, live social coverage, and follow-up. Supportsrecruitment and outreach for prospective students and researchpartners through targeted campaigns, event promotion, and materialshighlighting research opportunities, outcomes, and studentexperiences. Program Tracking and Continuous Improvement: Maintains tracking tools for communications activity, engagement,partner outreach, student interest, events, administrativeworkflows, and deliverable-related updates. Prepares routineupdates and basic reports for leadership, committee leads, projectmanagers, and stakeholders. Tracks communication outcomes, socialmedia analytics, event participation, marketing effectiveness, and audience engagement to inform future outreach strategies. Identifies opportunities to streamline processes, improvecommunication flow, strengthen event planning, and enhancecoordination across research areas. Other Duties: Perform other duties asassigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, PublicRelations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of related experience in administrativecoordination, communications, marketing, event planning, researchsupport, higher education, healthcare, or a relatedenvironment.
  • Strong written, editing, verbal communication, storytelling,and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiplepriorities, deadlines, events, stakeholders, and worklocations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education, graduate education, academicmedicine, healthcare, research administration, orscientific/research environments.
  • Experience supporting or working with interdisciplinary andinstitutional teams.
  • Experience creating content for websites, newsletters, socialmedia, presentations, recruitment materials, advertisements, ordigital campaigns.
  • Experience coordinating events, outreach activities, webinars,conferences, seminars, or partner meetings.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to utilize a phone,computer and other office equipment.

Starting Salary Range: $49,120– $53,000,commensurate with experience

During the first six months of employment, this position willbe fully in person, with three days per week at NEOMED's Rootstowncampus and two days per week at the Cleveland Health InnovationCenter in Cleveland. After six months, the position will beeligible for a hybrid work arrangement, with up to two remoteworkdays per week.
